Searching for my
chance to make an impact on how we interact with the digital world.

About me
Hello. My name is Blaise and I would like to take you on my journey into IT. In May of 2014 I graduated from Norwich University with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology, by December I was in the Washington D.C Police Academy. I graduated the top of my class and spent 5 years working as a Police Officer. After much reflection, I left policing in January of 2020 to follow my passion in IT.

My journey started with independent study through Udemy, Youtube and my local library. 2 months later, I was accepted to the Per Scholas program, an intensive 15-week program covering a multitude of topics from basic hardware identification and troubleshooting to subnetting and routing protocols. In those 15 weeks I obtained my CompTIA A+ certification and Google IT Support Professional Certificate, built my first computer, and graduated at the top of the class. A few weeks after Per Scholas finished I obtained my CompTIA Network+ certification.

Outside of work, I participate in rock climbing and Spartan Races.
Now, I am an IT Support Technician II for Burlington Stores. I am also an IT consultant for a small trucking business. My experience thus far has increased my passion and motivates me to study daily. Currently my studies are focused on passing the Comptia Security+ and Python. My goal is to work in cyber security, and to invent or contribute to an advancement in IT that changes how we interact with our world.

Outside of IT and my professional life, I am a casual console gamer (slowly transitioning to PC for certain games), enjoy rock climbing and playing ice hockey. My fiancé and I have been participating in Spartan obstacle course races since 2016 and have been completing at least one "Trifecta" each year since 2018.
Certifications
I am constantly studying for new certifications and am currently studying for the CompTIA Security+. After passing the Security+ exam I plan to expand into pentesting and learning more about linux systems.
